Hatley Castle

Hello friends...today I am sharing photos of Hatley Castle in British Columbia, Canada.
As my Sweetie and I wandered the grounds of this wonderful piece of History I imagined I was from the period and was enjoying My castle and the gardens... too funny I know but it is fun to imagine..isn't it?

I love the way the vines have wrapped around the pillars...

Wonderful isn't it.....

Beautiful statues in the gardens...

Well back to reality... have a great week ahead!

Wanda

High Tea @ The Empress Hotel

Hello & Welcome...won't you join me for High Tea? We just returned from our week long vacation to our West Coast...Victoria, B.C. Canada. We stayed at the Empress Hotel (check out earlier posts) and attended High Tea on Friday. I will let you look around the Tea Room for a minute then talk about the china that was used.

This was the view of the Harbour outside the window we were sitting at.

We were served fresh strawberries & cream when we arrived along with our pots of tea.

The tiered stand of scones....sandwiches and dainties was then presented.

Smoked salmon, water crest, cucumber and ginger chicken finger sandwiches were so yummy!

The fresh scones with cream and strawberry jam were the best I have ever tasted...

As you can see in the photos the dainties were also beautifully presented.

The china used in the Hotel Tea Room is Royal China made by Royal Doulton. The origional pattern was made by Booth factory in Stoke-On-Trent, England in 1914. Royal Doulton purchased the Booth factory and has a special arrangement with The Empress Hotel to be produced exclusively for the Fairmont Hotel. The Empress first used this china patern on 1939 when King George and Queen Elizabeth dined at The Empress Room on their visit to Canada.

The Hotel Gift Shop sells this beautiful Sterling jewelry made from the china and my Sweet Husband suprised me with these two pieces which I will always treasure.

Thank you for joining me today. I am joining the following lovely Ladies for Tea Tuesday...Thank you for hosting Ladies.

Still on Vacation and loving it!

Good afternoon and thanks for stopping in again today. We are wandering around Victoria enjoying the sites and seeing so many beautiful buildings and I knew you would enjoy seeing them. Don't you love the colour and design of this beauty on the Harbour?

This arbour below is on the Hotel grounds and I can imagine how beautiful it will be once the vines are in their glory.

Another shot of the Hotel

More beautiful shops along our stroll today

Another end of the Hotel ..the vines are just starting to awaken from their winter sleep

Night time darkness changes the appearance again. The photo above is the Parliament buildings across the Harbour.

Can you get enough of these Cherry Blossoms?

Beautiful Magnolia blossom... Thanks again for coming along on our vacation. If you have not visited Canada's West Coast you really should!

Stop in again later in the week for more of our photos..
Hugs,
Wanda
