Folding Chair Lady Bug Redo

Thank you for stopping in today. I am sharing the latest project I have on the go. When we bought our winter home in Arizona we inherited eight folding chairs and a card table.
While visiting IKEA yesterday I came upon this red and white
fabric and just knew I wanted to use it to recover these chairs and table. Thank goodness I saw this idea on PINTEREST...
I love how they are turning out, what do you think?

Happy New Year!

Wanda

Merry Christmas to all my Blogging friends!
I hope you enjoy a glimpse at some of our holiday decor in Arizona.

I just love the reindeer all decked out in her gold bow...

This year I can not seem to get enough of these small silver ornaments...

The candle stick is new to us from a local Used Boutique

My little Ball sealer looks so pretty with a touch of ribbon and a tea light candle.

This silver candle holder was another find at the local Goodwill and she looks cute on the silver hotplate stand...

The next three photos are of some handmade Christmas cards I purchased at a sale in our Park. The colours are perfect and I think I will hold onto them for displaying.

I hope your Holidays are filled with Love, Laughter & Family as you celebrate the Birth of Christ...
Blessings,
Wanda

Butterflies & some Christmas decor in Arizona

Hello my fellow Bloggers & friends!
I am sharing some butterfly photos my Sweetie has taken the past few days. He is continuing the photography classes again this winter and I am loving every one.

I am not sure why but whenever I see these butterflies I think of my parents who have passed away and I smile... The summer after my Father had passed away over 36 years ago I was out in my garden and about ten of these beauties gathered around me and one landed on my arm, staying with me for a few minutes.
 Very comforting...

Below you can see a little metal reindeer and Christmas tree, it sure feels odd believing it is Christmas soon. We are experiencing 74 degrees this weekend which I am loving the cooler temperatures as 90 degrees is just too hot for me.
The stores are filled with christmas decor and I finally gave in and bought a few pieces.

The couple we purchased our Park Model home from left us around eight large containers full of Christmas lights and decor but we took most of them to the local Goodwill as we were wanting a more silver decor theme.
Hopefully I will get more of the Christmas spirit later in December but it is hard when we are so used to cold and snowy temperatures.
How are you doing on your Christmas decorating?

Thank you for stopping in and leaving your comments... I love hearing from all of you! Take care...

Blessings,
Wanda

Natures Beauty...

We headed South early this year and enjoyed all the beautiful countryside in all its glory...
Our journey is a twenty six hour drive to reach our winter home in Arizona but we took our time and spent three nights in hotels along the way.

We love watching the sky and cloud formations along the journey so I thought I would share some of my favourite photos. I hope you enjoy them...

The clouds below were so amazing to see and so massive.

We travelled through many States along the way, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and back to Arizona. Each time we come we are going to try and take different routes back home so we can experience the beauty of the landscapes.

I am so amazed with the difference in the terrain from our home in Canada to The Netherlands where we spent the summer and in the States we passed through along our journey South. So beautiful but so different in every way...
Life is Good! Enjoy...

Thank you for taking the time to stop in today.
Blessings,
Wanda

Private Tea Houses in The Netherlands

Welcome.... today I am sharing photos of the private tea houses we came across on our boat rides with Jacoba & Leon in the Netherlands. These lovely gems are along the rivers & canals of some glorious private mansions. We would call them boat houses in Canada and they would not be as fanciful as these beauties. I can imagine the fun I would have decorating one of these...

A glimpse of the inside of one we passed...

I hope you enjoyed your visit today, have a great weekend!
Blessings,
Wanda

Fall Colours...

Hello & Welcome...
This Lusterware bowl that belonged to my Grandmother evokes images of Fall with all its colours in their glory.

My Mother remembered it sitting on the farmhouse table when she was a child. Her Mother (my maternal Grandmother) passed away when my Mother was six years of age and having this bowl meant allot to her. When she passed it on to me I was deeply touched and will treasure it until I pass it on to my Daughter In Law.

This week I came across this sweet tea towel from April Cornnel .....it goes perfectly with our Shophie Conran china.

I could not get a great photo of the cute little silver crown spoons we found while in The Netherlands but it gives you an idea of what they are like. The spoon in the sugar bowl is Sterling and the crown is very detailed. The other four we bought are silver plate and although very nice the details are not as intricate.

Another reason I was drawn to the tea towel was the fact it reminded me of vintage barkcloth, which I love....

The print below was purchased at The Louvre Museum shop and I found the perfect mat and frame at our local thrift shop. Unfortunately I have misplaced the title of the print and will have to do some research on it.

Our weather has taken a turn towards cooler temperatures and we are busy planning our escape to Arizona.
Thank you for stopping in again.
Life is good... Take care...
Blessings,
Wanda

Handblown Glass Drops

We came across these lovely glass drops in a wonderful little shop in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The blue drops are the exact colour of Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue... swoon...

As my heart skipped I beat I gathered up all the blue drops and added a few clear drops as well so we would have twenty in total.

Don't ask me what I am going to do with them as I really don't have any idea yet... probably add to a chandelier at some point. I just knew if I did not bring them back to Canada with us I would kick myself...

As we unpacked our treasures I came upon a glass lantern we had purchased and the glass had smashed to bits... I was almost afraid to open the bubble wrap we had around the drops and to my delight only one was damaged. ;  )

The sideboard is painted Duck Egg Blue above... the drops are such a great match!

I love how my vintage paper clip looks with this lovely vintage postcard...

This past week I came across the paper place mats below and loved them so much. They are perfect for the dinner table we are sitting tonight for friends. Our dinnerware is going show beautifully against the black & white.

Thanks for stopping in today, have a wonderful week ahead!
Blessings,
Wanda
