Some of My Vintage Lace Pieces...

Thank you for stopping in today for a glimpse of my vintage lace stash & some other little pieces in my collection...

These old laces where once on vintage pillow cases and some day I plan to add them to some of the linen cases we have in my linen collection.

Every once in awhile I take the pieces out and enjoy the texture and work that has gone into them...

Below is a velvet and lace bow that my Great Grandmother Agnes used to wear as a child, I feel so blessed to have it.

I have also been making more lavender sachets for friends and family so I thought you might enjoy seeing them today.

I used some of the smaller lace and fabrics I had on hand, I usually add two teaspoons of lavender to each one so they smell lovely.

Have a wonderful week & thank you again for stopping in...

Hugs,
Wanda

Jacoba's Garden in Holland...

As I scroll through our photos and memories of our luncheon in Jacoba & Leon's garden we remember what a wonderful day it was....
The dragonfly was an added bonus among the beauty of Jacoba's plantings.

Floris enjoyed the foxy toy we had gifted him and was taking a much needed rest from a chase around the garden.

The roses were blooming in all their glory and I am sure they have grown allot since our visit the summer of 2014.

The table was set beautifully with blue & white china and lovely linens...

What a blessing for us to have met Jacoba, Leon & Floris and we look forward to seeing them again on our second visit to their amazing country in 2017!

Red Transferware...

Hello & welcome...
I am looking through old photographs today while enjoying a cup of iced tea on the covered deck. We have the red dishes still packed up in storage and seeing these photos of some of our collection makes me want to get them out again... I love the red patterns! We chose to use our brown transferware while we are in Arizona and currently use Sophie Conran Portmeirion dinnerware as it goes so well with AS Duck Egg Blue.
I hope you enjoy a small look into my collection!
Take care...

Wanda

Shutters?

Welcome...
We had purchased two of these wall hangings @ the At Home store in Mesa, Az. They were dark green in colour and I just knew they would be fabulous in AS Duck Egg Blue. The rusty iron work on them is amazing... I had thought I taken photos of the before but I must have deleted them...sorry.
Our bedroom window just needed something to add some character so that is where we placed them. We are very pleased with the result and now debating if I need to add a window box as well...

In my last post I mentioned that I had also received a silver cream & sugar to match the large tray I was gifted... I will have to keep on eye out for the matching tea pot.

Below is a beautiful wisteria that covered the front of a lovely restaurant we dined at here on Vancouver Island. The fragrance filled the air and I regret not taking more photos!
Have a wonderful weekend ahead and thank you for leaving your comments...I love hearing from you!
Hugs,
Wanda

Small change...

It is hard to tell in the photos but we changed out the colour of the cover on our IKEA Ektorp sofa. The top cover is the lofallet beige which we are now enjoying and the cover below is the vittaryd white cover. When we purchased the sofa we had boughten two of the white covers so we would have a change out one while the other was being laundered.
Since Sweetpea loves to sleep on the sofa I was having to wash the cover every few weeks. Now with the beige one I am dealing with the dust allot better and I am making sure he is clean when he comes in from his walks. Allot of the walking paths are gravel so the dust is high.

My sweetie snapped a photo of Sweetpea and I while we were basking in the sunshine...since he is the white colour of my hair and I was wearing grey I decided to make the photo b&w...

The reflections in one of our ponds was so amazing I wanted to share the photo with you along with two more below that my sweetie shot in the gardens.
Thank you for stopping in...have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Wanda

Paris...

Welcome to Paris...
In some respects it seems like yesterday and in others it seems like a lifetime ago...
In July it will be two years since we did the seven week Home Exchange to the Netherlands... We took the train to Paris for a four days and loved every minute... I hope you enjoy your small glimpse while you are here...

Our Dutch friends are going to our Arizona home for the month of October so we will be heading back to the Netherlands in 2017 for our part of the 2nd exchange...
We can't wait to explore new areas and visit friends we met while we were there...
Thank you for stopping in today...

Hugs,
Wanda
