New Treasures

Hello & welcome!I hope the start to your New Year has been grand!

Today I am sharing with you two new pieces that have been added to our Home.

The French clock above was a Gift from my Sweetie for Christmas this year and I love the elegant hand painted scenes. It is a working clock and sits under a glass cloche on our mantel.

I found this French porcelain lantern on Ebay and adore the little cherub and the flowers that grace the piece.

It is 18" in height and is in working condition.

It does not have a permanent spot yet as I can't decide where I want it placed. I try and place my favourite pieces where I will see them everyday so I can enjoy them at every glance.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my new pieces. Have a great week! Blessings from our home to yours...

Happy New Year!

                                                             Welcome & Happy New Year!

I can not tell you all how excited I am for 2013 to unfold. My Sweetie and I are Retiring in the coming months and we are looking forward to travelling to places we have dreamed about and revisiting parts of the World we have explored in past years.
This beautiful picture above was in the Empress Hotel we visited a few years ago in Victoria, B.C. Canada and I would love to have a copy of this print but so far have not located one.
My hope for all of you in 2013 is for good Health, Laughter & Love in your heart.
Thank you for your wonderful comments throughout the year, I look forward to following my favourite Blogs again in 2013! Take care.

Blessings,

Wanda

All Things Shiny & Bright

Thank you for stopping in today. I am sharing some sparkle today that I have placed on our sideboard.

More and more this year I am falling for the look of the mercury glass and silver and so far this is all I have gotten done for my Christmas decorating.

My wooden star was purchased in a small quaint shop in our Community and appears to be handmade. I love it's look with our other silver pieces.

I can't wait to light the little Mercury tea lights tonight and enjoy the silvery glow in the dining area.

The beautiful Christmas ornaments were purchased at Home Sense last winter. (Canada's version of TJ Maxx)

How is your Holiday Decorating coming along? I can't believe it is December already and that I am so far behind in preparations.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Wanda

Small changes

I loved our Sitting room but have felt something was missing. So we have added two small sofa tables on both sides of the mantle.

My instincts have always been to hang more pictures to fill the space but I did not want to take away from the original piece we have purchased for over the Mantle.

The past month I have been home from work with a health issue and have been sitting looking at the space trying to decide what I could do to complete the look I was trying to achieve.

I came across these two small sofa tables on-line and they were under $50.00 each so I decided to give them a try.

Many of the magazines I browse have built in bookcases on either side of the mantle but since that is a big commitment and a permanent one, I think this option is a better solution for us for now.

Thank you for stopping in today, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Blessing from Our house to Yours,

Hope...Faith... Believe...

Welcome & thank you for stopping in!
I am hoping for the best outcome for my American friends tonight as they tally up their election ballets.

Aren't the feathers of a Peacock beautiful? I came across a bunch of them for sale at the local Dollarama  store and love the colours.

My transferware bowl is one of my favourite pieces as a Dear friend gifted it to me for my Birthday years ago and although the years and miles have separated us I think of her every time I see the bowl.

The marking simply says "Lake". I have only seem one more of these in an Antique shop a few years ago and it was marked $75.00 so needless to say I still only have the one.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Blessings,

Wanda

New Transferware...... l Iove it!

Welcome & thank you for stopping in! Many of you know I absolutely Love transferware and yesterday I found this beautiful setting of 37 pieces in a Shop I have not visited in over a year.
I had met the lovely Antique shop owner at a Alzheimer's Family Support meeting over ten years ago. She is now 85 years young and although her spouse is still living in the nursing home she carries on with their little Antique shop.
Whenever I enter her place I always end up leaving with a smile and a great treasure. Yesterday was no exception, I found this setting for eight and an old oil lantern I was looking for as a housewarming gift for friends.

Today we are hosting a dinner party for our friends as it is our Saturday to prepare the meal. I have chosen a pasta & spicy sausage dish for dinner tonight so we are looking forward to enjoying it with sourdough bread & a coleslaw recipe of my Mother's.

These two bone handled pieces are from my Sweetie's family .

Below is a liquer  glass that was my Mother In Law's and I am on the lookout for more of these as I only have three glasses. The stem is twisted glass and the edging is gold.

My new dishes came with one serving bowl above. And my Grandmother's little bird salt & peppers look great on the table.

I was told the dishes are from around 1930 and the maker is below.

Well the table is set now we just need the guests to arrive....

The framed print below hung in my Mother's bedroom since I can remember.

The two smaller pictures below are ones we found at a Car Boot sale in London over 14 years ago.

These triple chocolate cookies will go well with the Cappuccino frozen yogurt below. Oh how I love comfort food!

Blessings to you & yours as you enjoy your weekend!

Hugs,

Wanda
