Every time I pass this old typewriter in our reading room I think of my Father In-Law and can't help but smile.
He used to plunk away writing letters to his Family and sometimes just type the alphabet because he enjoyed the noise it made.
I have collected some really interesting old books and have promised myself I will read all of them someday..
The beautiful young lady in the photo is a Family member on my Father's side.
I hope you enjoyed your visit today..
Take care!
Wanda

AN OLD TYPEWRITER, THAT I'M SURE, LIKE YOUR FIL,
LOVED THE CLICKING OF THE KEYS.
I LOVE THE TEA CUP AND THE PHOTOGRAPH OF A RELATIVE
ON YOUR FATHERS' SIDE OF THE FAMILY.
I LOVE HIS GLASSES AND PEN.
I WONDER WHAT YEAR HIS POCKET WATCH STOPPED.
THANK YOU WANDA, FOR SHARING THESE.
HAVE A SUGAR SWEET DAY
HUGS
SIMPLY DEBBIE
Don't you love the look of an old typewriter. I wish I would of kept my Dad's Underwood...the papers he use to type! he was a teacher. I don't blame you for smiling!

ReplyDeletea kiss!!
(sorry for muy very bad englhis :(..)
Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how we threw them out, all those typewriters? We had a lovely travel one in a lightblue leather case - I gave it away to the cleaner .... only to see it back in a museum in New York. Oh my .... You describe your father in law and the typewriter so nicely, as we are there to witness it all. The 'music' and the bell when you have neared the end of a line is indeed fun!
Now! I see half the title of a book: Jan - The story of a Dutch bar.... question mark ...
I hope you will find them soon to read and do as you like. Pensions are around the corner before you know it!
Happy day!
Jacoba
Hello Wanda...Cool typewriter. Why not make it a goal to read one book a week so that you can get them all read this year? I know for myself that if I put something in the "some day" category, it just doesn't come to pass.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a serene Sunday. Oh! Loved your sweet Valentines, too. Susan
