Hello my Blog friends I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend! As I wandered around our home today I noticed most of our Silver needs polishing.
Perhaps I should leave it as is....it looks quite pretty!
What are your thoughts on shining the silver?
Have a wonderful week ahead....I am so excited to be one week closer to Spring!

Wanda ~ it depends on my mood ~ sometime I just like the patina of silver not polished and sometimes I want it to sparkle ;-) Stop by for my giveaway~
ReplyDeletefirst let me say that you have such beautiful pieces. BUT I do polish mine...oh not regular enough but I love how pretty it looks when I am done!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the look of it unpolished...BUT if I were going to use it directly I would polish it... MOST of mine are "Showing off their patina"!!! The way I LOVE them!!!You have a gorgeous collection...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Hugs, Donna
Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteThe older I get, the more I appreciate silver. Funny thing is; I love it just as much unpolished as polished. For me personally, it depends on how I'm going to use it. Like our friend Donna above, I usually let the patina show off until I plan to use it. Even then, depending on what it is, I usually prefer the patina of unpolished to the polished look. You have some very lovely pieces. Hope you have a wonderful week and I'm happy too that Spring is that much closer here in Canada! We've had a hard Winter!
Blessings,
Sandi
I vote NO. I love the well worn look. But I agree it you are serving food I would polish it til it shined.
ReplyDeleteLove the vase!

Beautifully polished silver looks magnificent. When I see it I think: I should have a go at my silver. But then, when I am home I realize I do not have servants to polish, that my time is limited and that a brush up every now and then suits me fine! So, I am ambiguous about it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it though, polished or not polished. It is such a craft, to make silver ornaments and things to use. It deserves to shine ...
You've got some pretty items here!
ReplyDeleteI like them polished and not...depending on the theme of things.
Blessings,

Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteYour silver is lovely and I like mine both ways so I usually just polish it about once a year.
It is so good to be into March- we have had a lot of winter even though it didn't really start until mid Jan. but then it came with a vengence! Oh,well the days are longer and the sun is stronger so spring is on the way.
Take care,
Carolyn

ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I had never seen unpolished silver before blogging and gee it sounds like a great idea!!! I got so sick of polishing my silver trays that I stuck them in the garage...lol I think yours look gorgeous the way they are and maybe I should pull out my trays and casserole dishes...
Happy Mardi Gras!!!
XO
First of all, you have gorgeous silver pieces. I love silver and surely enjoyed seeing your collection. I don't mind a bit of tarnish but honestly I prefer my on the shiny side. Not sure my guests would understand that bloggers seem to think it's okay for tarnish!LOL
ReplyDeleteDonna
You have some gorgeous pieces Wanda. I don't polish much even though I love both looks. I just think silver is lovely in any patina. The more ornate the better I like it. I just recently started to collect silver bud vases and it is fun seeing the different ones out there. I've only bought two so far (I have to adore them before I get them)because I tend to go over board when I start a collection. hehe
ReplyDeletesending hugs...
