Beautiful Masterworks of Art

Welcome... today I am sharing some photos of the Art we experienced in The Netherlands.

I have cropped off the beautiful ornate frames as it was difficult  to photograph correctly. The frames were also a work of art and such a pleasure to see.

The works are as old as the 15th Century and were breathtaking...

I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we did.

Since we took literally thousands of photos I will be sharing them over the next few weeks. Thank you for stopping in today...
Blessings,
Wanda

Paris

Oh Paris...
Although we only spent four days in Paris we feel we experienced allot of History, culture and architecture in those days...

I hope you  enjoy a small glimpse into our journey through the streets of Paris

Some of the shots just begged me to make them black & white and I love the way they turned out.... I could make a post alone on old iron lamps posts... I loved every one more than the last.

We came across this carousel while viewing the city from it's highest point. I think if it would have been running I may have just hopped on...

The lovely tile work below was on the sidewalk in front of Hotel Regina and I loved the colours & design.

Thank you for your sweet comments...

Hugs,
Wanda

Kinderdijk

Welcome to Kinderdijk in The Netherlands! I encourage you to check out the history of these fabulous Windmills that date back as far as 1740.

https://www.kinderdijk.com/

We arrived and purchased tickets for the Hop On/Off boat so we could enjoy every aspect of the windmills from all angles. Two of them had Museum information inside which we found very interesting. Some of the windmills are now private homes... can you imagine living in a windmill? Lovely...

It seemed fitting to capture the Dutch flag in the photo above.

The roofs are thatched and all of them are so well looked after it is hard to believe their age...

Thank you for your visit and I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our day...

Hugs

Prestige Patisserie in Brugge

Well I must say Prestige Patisserie in Brugge was one of the most quaint, romantic spots we ate at on our visit to Brugge.
The eggs benedict with tomatoes was so amazing...

Too bad it was raining at the time as I would have loved to sit out and enjoy the iron furniture.

The sweet cane highchair caught my eye and don't you just love the floral wallpaper?

The china was so pretty and I forgot to take photos of the pink and mauve plates our breakfast was served on...

They sold handmade chocolates & pastries as well so we took some along for our train trip back to Holland. If you are ever in the area make sure and stop in as the owners are wonderful!

Have a wonderful weekend...

The Beauty of Vintage Leaded Stained Glass

Today I am sharing some photos of the Vintage stained glass we have come across in The Netherlands.

Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has so much beauty and I was drawn to the glass windows... anything shiny attracts my eye.
;  )

I wish the photos showed more detail in the images but these are the best shots I could get.

These two photos were from windows in a Canal Home in Amsterdam.
"Willet Holthuysen Museum" is definitely worth a visit.

Below is from our visit to the Centraal Museum in Utrecht

Seeing all of the leaded stained glass has got me interested in designing it again. I had given away my tools when we downsized but may have to give it another thought.
We have taken so many photos while we are here so I will post more about our exchange to The Netherlands soon. Thank you for your sweet comments.

Canal Gardens in Amsterdam

Welcome to our visit to two Canal Home gardens. I am so in love with the white iron benches throughout the garden.

It is so much fun exploring the gardens and seeing the differences between their design. Some are all greenery and others are a mix of plantings but all seem to have a pond in common.

The ponds were lovely...

Oh another bench... love it...
Every garden is bursting with Hydrangeas of all colours...

Don't you just love the thought and design that went into this garden?

Every garden is graced with a beautiful statue or two.

Thank you for stopping in today... I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our visit to The Netherlands.

Blessings,
Wanda
