Vintage needlework...

Today I am sharing some of my vintage needlework tea towels...
Mr. Potato Above and the Peas below were done by my Grandmother Laura. I never had the pleasure of meeting her as she passed away when my Mother was six years old. This past year I have decided to get using these treasured pieces as I am sure our Sons are not going to be interested in them and this way I get to think of her everyday when I am using them...

The two towels below are from my collection of vintage linens and so far I am only using these two... Doing this post has got me thinking I need to go through my treasured linens and start using more of them...they need to come out of storage!

My Dear friend Jacoba @ polderpins.blogspot.ca encouraged me to post about my tea towels so she could have a look at them. Pop on over and visit her new Blog!

I am loving the tulips from the local grocer this week.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today...thank you for stopping in!

Blessings,
Wanda

  2. How cute, Wanda, and so beautifully stitched with precious little stitches. So much time put into the trimmings also with the red stitches. Adorable, all of them. Good on you for using them! It is a pity to let them fade away in a trunk. Enjoy them until they fall to bits! Such a treasure also, knowing they were made by Laura.

  5. Hi Wanda, Cute tea towels, the first one reminds me of St. Pat's Day. The others are cute too. I wasn't sure if the black animal is a cat or squirrel though. What's your thought on that? I love vintage linens too.
    Your tulips are really pretty!

  7. Hi Wanda,
I just love those precious little tea towels. I have some of my Mom's. The vintage ones are getting harder to find so better hold onto those. Also, thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment on my blog.

    hugs
