Delft Transferware from our visit to the RijksMuseum in Amsterdam

Thank you for stopping in again today. I am sharing some of the beauty from the Rijksmuseum. My love for transferware drew me to these pieces so I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. They are cases upon cases of Delft pottery dating back from 1600's (and earlier). I must say I was overwhelmed a little by the beauty and quantity of the collection.

Above is a Dutch calendar... amazing

Water tap and basin... Imagine...

I will post more from the Museum in future posts. It truly feels like we are living in a dream.... Have a great week!

Hugs,
Wanda

  3. Lovey to see! As we were on a guided tour last year (see the post om my blog) we missed out on all of this. As the RIJKS is around the corner your post is an invitation to go back soon. Well, you could have yourself locked in in the museum and spend a week to see it all ;-)) is my idea. You can only take in so much, there is so much beauty to see, a day to the museum is too short. Are you returning one more time?!
My little cousins were taken there. To keep them from getting bored by the Old Masters the parents had a trick: they started counting all the dogs on the paintings. It worked out so very well. Visitors were taking pictures of them, instead of the paintings! Have a nice day, Wanda!

  4. I have not yet been to the Rijksmuseum after it has been renewed. It is still on our list and I think we'll go there coming winter. I love the old Delft transferware in the museum and you made some magnificent pictures.
